Chairman of the festival Tan Oral said: “Cartoonists draw the sun by dipping their pen in black ink, the common point of cartoon and philosophy is curiosity. Man knows that life is finite and for the rest of his life he either choose to run away from this fact or come over this fact. Philosophy and cartoon are both ways that can be used for that.”
Aktiffelsefe General Manager Oya Uysal said: “All people are students in life that are looking for their answers. Philosophy is a way of life and it is not only thinking, it is a process of acting in which you act according to your thinking. The common search of all is truth but the way of all is different. The advise of philosophers in finding the truth is acting according to permanent values in life”.
Giannis Geroulias said: “Philosophy and cartoon are like a football game, you need to think before drawing a cartoon and the winner is philosophy. Both philosophy and cartoon are after what is ideal and they both exist in societies that have thought freedom.”
Prof.Dr.Bahadır Gülmez said: “Cartoon is ‘Laughing Thought’. Cartoon talks directly and clearly and invites people to think.’’
Cartoonist İzel Rozental said: ‘’Philosophy is much more serious than cartoon. Philosophy is like a man in suit, cartoon is like a man wearing slippers. Philosophy can make broader statements coming from the joke in the cartoon.”
Cartoonists coming from İstanbul stated that they are very happy to see that there is such a great interest in cartoons in Eskişehir and after that they left the city.
